The story of us who runs Kennel Herding Instinct’s
The kennel name, Herding Instinct’s was approved by the Swedish kennel club and FCI in mars 2001. April 24:Th the same year was our first litter of Swedish lapphund born. Since then 37 Swedish lapphunds in 9 litters and 21 finnish lapphunds in 4 litter have been born under our prefix.

Even if my kennel name is not that old, I have been involved and owned the breed for much longer. 2006 I celebrated 20 years with Swedish lapphunds!
For me, the Swedish lapphund is the perfect breed . It is of exactly right size not to big not to small. Following you every where, have great working ability, is charming, beautiful and sweet. So clever that you will wonder if your earlier dogs from other breeds had been dumb ;0) they can be stubborn, but in a good way… They never give up, this gives you for example a wonderful tracking dog. If you talk with your dog you will literally get answers, because lapphunds talks. I just adore this breed!
Under the years I have been very active in the breed club, Swedish lapphund club both on county as central level. For example as chairman in the East district and as secretary on central level. I was also a member of the breeding board for Swedish lapphund 2004-2008 and for Finnish lapphund 2007-2008. I drop this because I had not time enough. I have also been involved in the Swedish youth dog club (Sveriges hundungdom) and have been youth leader since 1993 and also member of the board on local, county and central level. 2008-2011 I was the editor of the paper Lapphunden and since 2010 I am again member of the breeding board for swedish lapphund.
I compete in obedience, tracking and agility and am also active as handler on conformations shows. I have since 2003 owned my own company in the dog business (dog training and equipments). I also study for my master degree in biology on the university in

MATS
I met Mats thru the dog world. We where member of the same board, I as a chairman and Mats as the treasurer and something ended up in something ells…
When we met each other Mats had just one dog, a Belgian shepherd/tervueren that ended his days 12,5 years old autumn 2007. With him and earlier dogs had Mats competed in tracking and obedience. Mats has been largely involved in the local working dog club and also had the post as treasurer in the working dog club on county level. Today is Mats treasurer in the Swedish lapphund club East district board and both on local and county level in the Swedish youth dog club. Mats are also member of the central board of the Swedish lapphund club.
Mats is the kennel boy on kennel Herding Instinct’s, he never plan litters or compete with our dogs but he helps a lot with all ground service J
